The Wine Tasting Association (WTA) was founded in 1990 to educate folks about wine and related topics. Our mission is to make learning about wine fun and unintimidating. Three things to know about our philosophy:

1. We swallow. You won't see folks spitting out wine...unless it's really bad. And even then, some just can't let wine go to waste.

2. You won't hear anyone describing wine with all of those crazy adjectives, nuances of this, hints of that and undertones of whatever. How silly is that? That doesn't tell you anything about the wine. We advocate developing profiles of each type of wine which helps you choose wines off of a restaurant wine list and in stores without any help. 3. The two most important words to us are "Who Cares." Who Cares if the wine is rated highly or if an expert likes it. It's what YOU like that's important. A good wine is one that you like, whether it's a white zinfandel, oaky Chardonnay, box wine or an expensive Bordeaux. If you are a wine snob, WTA is not the place for you.
